u.s. open

The U.S. Open has produced many of golf’s signature moments, created by legends of the sport at acclaimed venues across the United States. The origins of the event, the third men’s Major of the year, date back to 1895 when the inaugural championship was played at Newport Country Club. Staged annually in June by the United States Golf Association, the tournament features the game’s finest professionals and amateurs, each vying to have their name etched on the coveted winner’s trophy. Rolex has been its Official Timekeeper since 1980.
