Galvanized by the energy of the passionate New York crowds, Iga Świątek used all her experience, resolve and determination to capture the final Grand Slam® tournament of the season. The US Open trophy is a remarkable seventh trophy for Iga Świątek so far in 2022 and her second Grand Slam® singles title of the year. Having dominated on the clay of Roland-Garros, the World No. 1 has demonstrated her outstanding skill and all-round game by conquering two opposing surfaces.

With this victory, Iga Świątek joins an esteemed group of Rolex Testimonees to have been crowned in the Big Apple, including 2019 champion Bianca Andreescu as well as Angelique Kerber and Sloane Stephens, who won the tournament in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Following her triumph on Saturday, Iga Świątek, said:

Coming back from winning a Grand Slam® [in Roland-Garros] is always tricky so I needed to stay composed and focused on the goals. This tournament was really challenging. It’s New York, it’s loud, it’s so crazy. I’m so proud that I could handle it mentally.

This year’s tournament saw fellow Testimonee Caroline Garcia continue her strong season and reach the US Open women’s singles semi-final, whilst fellow Testimonee and 18-year-old Coco Gauff built on her impressive 2022 by reaching the quarter-finals.
