ROLEX PARIS MASTERS: THE HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED FINAL ATP MASTERS 1000 EVENT OF THE YEAR

Geneva, 23 October 2023 – The Rolex Paris Masters is one of the world’s biggest indoor tennis tournaments, attracting more than 100,000 spectators each year to watch the finest players in the men’s game contest the ninth and final ATP Masters 1000 event. This season-long series comprises the highest-status tournaments outside of the four Grand Slam® events and the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals. Rolex has partnered the Paris event since 2007 and became Title Sponsor 10 years later. The Swiss watchmaker is also Official Timekeeper of the tournament.

This year’s edition will take place from 30 October–5 November. The only ATP Masters 1000 event that is played exclusively indoors, it is the final competition of the regular men’s season held in the heart of the French capital in the Accor Arena, providing the perfect setting for the showpiece event. The pyramid-shaped venue, located near the River Seine, is renowned for generating an electric atmosphere befitting a contest where the world’s best strive to win the prestigious title and clinch any remaining qualifying spots for the Nitto ATP Finals that feature the leading eight singles players and doubles pairings.

The event has witnessed countless memorable matches and iconic performances, contributing to its esteemed reputation within the sport. The venue’s state-of-the art facilities provide an exceptional setting for tennis with its intimate atmosphere allowing spectators to be close to the action, creating an immersive experience for all. Played on a fast-paced hard-court surface, it demands agility, precision, and adaptability from the players, with the speed of the court adding an extra level of intensity to the matches, making it an exhilarating spectacle for both the players and the audience.

To succeed at the Rolex Paris Masters, players must display unwavering composure, supreme skill and accuracy over the nine days of the tournament. It is these skills that Rolex Testimonees have displayed in abundance over the years, enjoying continued success at the Rolex Paris Masters over the past three decades. In 2022, Holger Rune was crowned champion at the 50th edition of the tournament, concluding an outstanding breakthrough season for the Dane. With this victory, Rune broke into the Pepperstone ATP Rankings Top 10 for the first time in his career and reinforced his status as one of the finest young talents in the men’s game. Rune also became the first ATP Tour player to overcome five Top-10 players at the same event and the youngest winner at the Paris tournament since 1986. At this year’s edition, several other Testimonees will be eager to build momentum ahead of the season finale at the Nitto ATP Finals. Buoyed by his summer heroics at The Championships, Wimbledon, where he claimed his second Grand Slam singles title, Carlos Alcaraz will be seeking to claim back his position as World No.1. The Spaniard won his maiden Grand Slam title on the hard courts of Flushing Meadows at the 2022 US Open, a victory that resulted in him becoming the ATP Tour’s youngest ever World No.1. Fellow Testimonees Stéfanos Tsitsipás, Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz have also recorded impressive displays on hard courts in recent years and will be vying to win this year’s tournament. They have all captured ATP titles on the surface in 2023, with Tsitsipás claiming the Los Cabos Open title in Mexico, Sinner winning the Open Sud de France – Montpellier, the China Open and the National Bank Open in Canada to clinch his maiden ATP Masters 1000 crown, and Fritz triumphing at the Delray Beach Open and the Atlanta Open in the United States.
