On Sunday 8 September, two Rolex Testimonees took centre stage in the world’s largest tennis arena, to contest the men’s singles final of the 2024 US Open. Jannik Sinner, the World No. 1, took on home favourite Taylor Fritz in a meeting of power and precision, ultimately securing his second Grand Slam® title with a commanding scoreline of 6–3, 6–4, 7–5. The pair delivered skilful exchanges on Arthur Ashe Stadium, with Sinner raising his game at key moments throughout the 2 hours and 17 minutes to prevail. Flushing Meadows has been renowned for its electrifying atmosphere since it first hosted the tournament in 1978, and the crowd showed their appreciation for Sinner’s masterful performance as he lifted the trophy.

For almost 50 years, Rolex has supported the dedication and quest for excellence that has rewarded Sinner with Grand Slam® glory twice this season – with the Italian winning the Australian Open in January. It also recognizes the perseverance embodied by Fritz that saw him compete in his first Grand Slam® final in front of his adoring supporters. The Swiss watchmaker first partnered with The Championships, Wimbledon in 1978 and became Official Timekeeper of the US Open four decades later, in 2018. After the match, Sinner reflected on the pride he felt at becoming the first Italian player in history to win the singles title. Sinner says:
